Individually and as part of a duo, Matrix & Futurebound have decades worth of experience in shaping the drum & bass landscape. Brendan Collins and Jamie Quinn possess one of the most impressive track records in the genre’s history, boasting one hundred million combined streams, multiple consecutive Top 40 UK singles, and two critically acclaimed artist albums (Universal Truth & Mystery Machine). Their sophomore album ‘Mystery Machine’ released earlier this year, is testament to the legacy they’ve built throughout their careers; packed full of drum & bass anthems and underground tributes alike, encompassing the duos versatility, and has already received huge global support since its April release.

Now, furthering the celebrations in what has already been a massive year for both Viper and Metro Recordings, Matrix & Futurebound, are proud to release a carefully selected ‘Mystery Machine Remix EP’ with some of the album’s most iconic tracks. With the remixers handpicked by Futurebound and Matrix, the selection shows their eye for spotting exciting talent and bring the ‘Mystery Machine’ album to new audiences with this special remix EP released in two parts on their own imprints Metro-Viper.

Part 2 of the EP comes with remixes of tracks Got You There / Believe / Tardis

‘Got You’ There’, arguably one of the album’s most infectious tracks felt the perfect fit for High Tea Music’s founders, T & Sugah who have delivered their signature flavour effortlessly. Infusing the good vibes of the original with a tropical, beach-ready flare, T & Sugah take the track to new heights with a slow, hip-swaying groove that is guaranteed to be your next addiction. With vibrant horns and a halftime beat woven between Zelah’s powerful voice, the track is pure summer vibes – but the drop is guaranteed to take you by surprise. Taking a sharp turn into sinister territory, T & Sugah shake things up with a heavy dose of jump-up infused jungle flavour for the ultimate DJ tool. This is the kind of track that will make crowds lose their minds for months to come.

US drum & bass pioneer Flite takes on ‘Believe’, stripping things down with a raw reimagining of the iconic single. Maintaining the bold original vocals, Flite captures the eerie notes of the original and takes them to new heights with vigour and grace throughout the intro. The drop delivers something entirely new, with piercing power and pounding pulses that transport the listener to the center of the dancefloor with every note. Remixing such a beloved track is no easy feat, but Flite’s creativity certainly proves limitless with his rendition of ‘Believe’.

Last but not certainly not least, ‘Tardis’ was selected for Brighton-based Glitch City who lends his talent with his warped and energetic remix that packs more than just a punch. Maintaining the foreboding introduction, Glitch City puts his own destructive spin on the track with a completely reimagined drop that is as heinous as it is heavy. Seamlessly blending the familiar chords of the original together with his own signature punching basslines, Glitch City turns the track into powerful underground weapon suited for even the dirtiest of dancefloors.

Celebrating three distinct artists from all corners of the globe, Viper/Metro is proud to present Part 2 of the Mystery Machine remix EP with these outstanding renditions of some of Matrix & Futurebound’s more well-loved tracks.
